The DeltaPreferred Option (DPO) network

Although you have the freedom to see any licensed dentist for treatment, in order to obtain the maximum benefit from your AARP Dental Insurance Plan, you should have services performed by a DPO network dentist.

Payment for covered services performed for you by a DPO dentist is calculated based on the DPO Maximum Allowance. DPO dentists have agreed to accept a DPO Maximum Allowance as the full charge for covered services.

Delta Dental calculates its share of the DPO Maximum Allowance using the applicable percentage from the Benefit Summary Chart and sends it directly to the DPO dentist who has submitted the claim. Delta Dental advises you of any charges not payable by Delta Dental for which you are responsible. These are generally your share of the DPO Maximum Allowance (copayment), the deductible, charges where the benefit maximum has been exceeded and/or charges for non-covered services.

To take full advantage of your benefits, we highly recommend you verify a dentist's contracting status within a Delta Dental program with your dental office before each appointment.

Locating a Participating dentist

There are two ways in which you can locate a network dentist near you:

• Access the online dentist directory. Remember, if you wish to receive maximum benefits, be sure to select DeltaPreferred Option.
  
  
• You may also call our Customer Support Center toll-free at (866) 583-2085and one of our customer service representatives will assist you. He/she can provide you with information regarding a dentist's membership status, specialty and office location.
