FAQs about Delta Dental’s new sign-on system for enrollees

Effective May 16, 2005, Delta Dental Insurance Company will have a new process for signing onto its web site to review benefits and eligibility. Here are some frequently asked questions and answers about our new system.

Why do you have this new sign-on system?

This system complies with new regulations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) that require safeguarding of electronically transmitted information. While our old system was secure, the new sign-on system provides even greater protection of personal information because it asks for additional identifying information.

If enrollees have registration questions, whom should they contact?

Enrollees may submit an online request form via our web site. The form may be found on the Enrollee Connection page.

How do enrollees obtain user IDs and passwords?

Enrollees who visit the “online services” area of our web site will
be asked to register in order to view benefits, eligibility and claims status. They will be asked to select a user ID and password, provide key information and answer questions that can be
used as “prompts” if the password is forgotten. Please note: If an enrollee has already registered through Delta Dental’s national portal (www.deltadental.com), they will not need to
register again on our web site (www.deltadentalins.com).

Should each family member sign up?

No. Only the primary enrollee needs to sign up to use the system. All family members then use the same user ID and password created by the primary enrollee.
