iRecruitment frequently asked questions

What should I do if I forget my password?
For an automated confirmation of your account details, sent directly to you within 24 hours, please use the 'Forgot Your Password?' link on the registration screen.

Remember when you enter your e-mail address, you must use your Delta Dental account registration e-mail address.

What should I do if I have problems logging in?
Please check that you have correctly entered your login details.

Whom do I contact if I have a problem with the system or with my application?
If you have any problems regarding the Delta Dental recruitment process, or with the iRecruitment system please contact recruit@delta.org.

What format should my resume be in?
The system allows documents in all formats to be attached. However, it is recommended your resume be sent as either a Word or PDF document.

How do I search for current vacancies?
The system allows you to search on all current open jobs, or to set criteria with which to search such as 'Date Posted,' 'Location' or certain 'Keywords' to try and best match existing opportunities to your specific requirements. The system also includes a 'Job Basket' function for you to store details of all vacancies that meet your requirements, and allows you to apply for more than one position at the same time if this is applicable.

Note: If you are using the 'Advanced Search' feature to search for jobs, do not use the 'Location and Distance' functionalities at this time due to systems issues. When this is fully functional, this message will be deleted.

Why do I need to check the "Receive E-mails of Matching Jobs" box?
This is to enable you to receive system generated e-mails such as an acknowledgment e-mail confirming that your application has been successfully received, additional e-mails relating to the progress of your application, and also e-mails relating to any new job opportunities matching your requirements.

How do I set up iRecruitment so I can receive e-mail notifications of jobs that match my criteria?
It is a two-step process. Once you have logged into your account:

  • Click on the Search For Jobs link. Then click the Save Search button. In the Saved Search Name field, give your search a name. Check the box next to Notify Me About These Jobs. Next, select a job category or job categories in the Job Category area. You may select other criteria if you wish to do so. Click the Save button. Click on the Home tab near the top of the page.
  • Click on My Account in the purple navigation bar at the top. Select the Preferences link. Next, select one or more categories in the Job Category area. You may select other criteria if you wish to do so. Scroll down to the E-mail Preferences section and check the box next to Receive emails of Matching Jobs if it isn’t checked already. Finally, click the Save button.

Note: To select more than one consecutive job category, hold the shift key and click your mouse simultaneously. To select more than one non-consecutive job category, hold the Control key and click the categories you want to select with your mouse.

How do the Work Preferences work?
If you have checked the 'Receive e-mails of Matching Jobs' box, you will be sent any new opportunities that arise with Delta Dental that meet your specified 'Work Preferences' (if you check this box but do not specify any work preferences you will be sent all new opportunities).

The more specific you are with your Work Preferences, the more limited the amount of new opportunities that will be sent through.

  • If you add keywords you will receive any new opportunities that are added where your keyword(s) exists in the vacancy name or job description. The system will recognize 'OR' if you wish to include more than one keyword, and the system will also recognize 'AND', but in this case all keywords would need to be matched. (Please note: using commas, or spaces to separate keywords works in the same way as 'AND').

  • If you specify a Location, you will only receive new opportunities that arise in that Location.

  • If you specify an Employment Category, you will only receive new opportunities that match that category.

  • If you check only Employee or only Contract, you will only receive new opportunities that match these preferences.

What is the 'Allow Account to be Searched' checkbox for?
This allows the Human Resource Department to search your record in relation to any job opportunities.

Who will have access to my details once I register?
Once you register with Delta Dental, your personal details will be available to Human Resources only. If you apply for any specific vacancies, your details will be visible to Human Resources and the hiring department for that specific vacancy only.

How do I change my personal information after I have submitted my application?
You can log into the Delta Dental iRecruitment system at any time and update your personal details, amend your resume etc. Any details relating to a specific application cannot be amended once your application has been submitted. If you have made an error on your application, please contact recruit@delta.org.

Can I save my application and complete it at another time?
No, this is not possible. However, you can complete all your personal and professional details in advance, upload your resume and any other, pertinent documentation to your account. When your account is updated with all necessary changes, applying for a specific job will be faster and easier.

When and how will I be notified regarding the status of my application?
Your account will be instantly updated when any change of status is made to your application. You will be able to see details of these changes by logging into the system and checking the status history of your application. If your application is successful, you will be informed by a member of the HR department directly.

Can I submit my resume for general consideration if there is not an opening that suits my qualifications?
You may only apply for an open vacancy. If you ensure that you check the 'Allow Account to be Searched' checkbox (within the 'e-mail Preferences' section of your 'My Account'), Delta Dental will be able to search your record in relation to any job opportunities.
