Delta Dental signs three-year contracts with Duval, Hillsborough public schools

September 19, 2000

Alpharetta, GA — Maitland, Fla. - Delta Dental Insurance Company announced today its signing of three-year contracts with two Florida school boards that will offer dental benefits to an estimated 34,000 employees.

The Duval County School Board in Jacksonville will offer employees and family members a choice between DeltaPreferred Option, Delta's PPO program, and DeltaCare, a managed care dental program administered by Delta affiliate PMI Dental Health Plan. The new benefit programs go into effect on October 1.

Beginning January 1, 2001, the Hillsborough County School Board will offer the DeltaCare program as well as Delta's AdapTable, a table of allowances program.

"Our selection as the dental carrier of choice for these school boards reflects our growing reputation for quality and service in the Florida marketplace," said Robert Elliott, president of Delta Dental Insurance Company and PMI Dental Health Plan. "With more than 30 years of experience in the dental benefits arena, Delta Dental is well equipped to meet the needs of these clients and their enrollees."

The company recently launched a new web site at www.deltadentalins.com that enables enrollees to find a dentist in their area, download forms and get dental health information.

Delta Dental Insurance Company, with field offices in Maitland and Miami, covers about a million people in 10 states including Florida. It is part of the nationwide Delta Dental Plans Association, whose member Delta Plans provide dental insurance to more than 35 million people nationwide.
